Brick by Brick

Hurricane Irene, even though it was a category 1 storm, brought massive flooding and damage to many homes across the east coast. Pamlico county North Carolina was no exception. Major flooding, wind damage, and loss of power for several days destroyed homes and displaced a large number of families in Pamlico county. My family and I were just one of the many victims of hurricane Irene’s devastation.

With no flood insurance and no help from FEMA we are desperate to rebuild our home and make it a safe environment for our children. Out of this desperation I have had to learn to swallow my pride and face the fact that we cannot rebuild our home without help.

The thought of the large amount of money we would need to rebuild is disheartening to say the least. At times, like so many other families, it seems that we continue to run into brick walls when trying to find financing to rebuild. If we could only tear down those brick walls and reuse the bricks we could rebuild our home. This concept inspired the “Brick by Brick” donation fund.

With that concept in mind and in desperation we are collecting “Bricks” in order to rebuild our home. The average price of a brick used to build a home is less than $1.00 each. If we can raise enough “Bricks” we can begin to rebuild our home.

I am calling out to everyone to please find it in our heart to donate a “Brick”. You can find the donation area in the right side-bar titled “Brick by Brick” or click the link below:
